FRANCE -AMERICA MAGAZINE du samedi May 6 reprend, sous le titre « le commandant joueur », les accusations formulées dans un article paru le Nipon PRES ( Robert Horvath ) mettant en cause Traian BASESCU en sa qualité de commandant d’un navire roumain qui aurait provoqué pendant l’hiver 1981/1982 un grand incendie dans le port de Rouen, sur la Seine. L’article, citant les déclarations de M. Basescu, l’accuse d’avoir été le responsable de cet incendie et d‘avoir induit en erreur les autorités françaises afin de les empêcher de prouver la culpabilité du navire roumain qu’il dirigeait.

The current Romanian President, Traian Basescu, was involved in an extraordinary accident in 1981/1982. The accident is still part of the history of the modern marine. 37 ships have been set on fire in the French Harbor Rouen and the Seine had been polluted by the ship led by the current Romanian President. Basescu is quiet about this event in his carrier, even though there has been a moment in time when he recognized the accident and admitted he had lied to the French authorities.
